Besides
gathering of practical know-how the technicians in Dinslaken together with the Technical
University Darmstadt and in cooperation with the authorities of Road Administration took
great credit in establishing computating methods for the loading and stability behaviour
of elstically bedded, corrugated steel pipe, for the approval within the scope of building
specifications.
The result of these investigations
is the Klöppel/Glock design method, which is laid down in all European standards for
corrugated steel pipe. A large-scale test, generously supported by Armco-Thyssen,
underlined the method and gave proof of the high carrying reserves for static and dynamic
loading.
Already in
1896 the corrugated steel pipe, which gets its great stability and carrying capacity from
bedding in the soil body, was developed and patented in America. The American steel
producer Armco Inc., founded in Middletown 1899, recognized the advantages of corrugated
steel pipe and took over the patent in 1908.

Armco Inc. developed the new steel pipe technology into the
present worldwide known MultiPlate construction system.
With the foundation in 1956 and the start of production in 1957, today Hamco Dinslaken
Bausysteme GmbH, Armco Inc. and Thyssen introduced the MultiPlate construction menthod
into Germany and made it a success. Several 10000 structures of the MultiPlate system
give evidence.
In addition,
the company consistently extends its sales programme in respect of
that the customer can be offered an extensive and versatile product
package. Beside the five different Hamco prefabricated steel products
and the steel guardrail protection systems meanwhile nine further
product groups belong to the Hamco sales programme:
Hamco MultiPlate 200 x 55
Hamco MultiPlate 152,4 x 22
Hamco MultiPlate 67,7 x 12,7
Hamco LinerPlate 2-flange

Dinslaken Bausysteme GmbH is a family-run medium-sized company that
is always striving to combine his activities with quality, innovation
and reliability. The staff were and are always motivated in search
for new applications, market areas and challenges. For example, from
the recent past here are to mention geometrically complex corrugated
steel structures for multifunctional use or green bridges made of
corrugated steel for connection of natural habitats of wild living
animals.
The
development of the corrugated steel construction method has always
been significantly supported by our company through technical and
scientific investigations. Here the Klöppel/Glock design method
should be emphasized which is still today anchored in many guidelines
for the dimensioning of corrugated steel structures. Our development
and market introduction of the corrugated steel product MP 200 x 55
is also very important and worth mentioning. Recently, this product
has been modified by us with regard to higher steel quality and more
optimal steel thickness gradation. Such modifications are always
accompanied by recognized testing institutes and finally demonstrated
by a test report.
