Corrosion protection

With regard to wearing on job site corrosion protection of shafts is not appropriate.
In case of permanent use (e.g. lining or renewal of arch culverts, etc.) the Duplex system as corrosion protection is applied, combining hot-dip galvanizing and epoxy coating.

Statical principle

LinerPlate structures belong to the category flexible, elastically embedded steel pipes, as the stiffness of the pipe wall compared to the shaft diametre is small and depends upon the stiffness of the surrounding soil body. Each shaft ring is a carrying ring of its own. The interaction over the flange joint can be utilized if passing lines have to be crossed within the shaft area.


LinerPlate shafts are designed for horizontal soil pressures including horizontal components from vehicle loading. These forces are accepted from each shaft ring and carried off, provided the ring is totally supported by the surrounding soil.

With its elastic behaviour the shaft ring is able to equalize to a certain extent density variations of the soil.

Vertical forces from pulling and pressing of the shaft segments can be carried restrictedly.

Details

Design calculation is made in accordance with the Klöppel/Glock method for flexible, embedded pipes.
