| Construction
is quite simple, normally does not require the aid of special companies and beside the
assembly of the corrugated steel pipe comprises mainly earthworks and, as a smaller part,
work with concrete and natural rock. Closed corrugated steel pipes are assembled without foundation on a firm, plane subgrade, whereby the earthwork, i.e. exchange of soil, if required, depends on underground conditions. With underground less firm and succeptible to frost an exchange of the soil is required. The soil stability can also be improved with crushed-stone bed and, if needed, using geotextiles or load distributing concrete plates with equalizing gravel layer. Backfilling in layers of Multiplate profile |
To save construction time and predraining expenses corrugated steel pipes can also be
preassembled completely or in sections outside the construction trench up to a weight of
approx. 30 tons and then be placed into the trench by the construction company
itself. The
areas resulting between corner/bottom plate and soil body have either to be tamped by hand
or flushed by means of powerful drainage. Installation requirements and technical information can be downloaded in the service - area. |
